Elmore Court Wedding Photographer {Mikako and Daryl} // eve dunlop Photography

This wedding was rather special, the second part of a three tiered wedding story.  The story began in New York City, Mikako and Daryl's home. They tied the knot in The Big Apple and a couple of weeks later headed for the UK and to the gorgeous Elmore Court for the second part of their adventure.  That's the bit that I came in for.  I hadn't met Mikako and Daryl before their big day, although as I take on more destination weddings and with more people living abroad returning to the UK to get hitched this is something that's becoming more common. Elmore I know well though, it is always a pleasure to work at this fantastically unique venue. I have my own review page about Elmore Court. eve dunlop Photography at Elmore Court.

So without the normal meetings over coffee I was in for a few surprises. Mikako arrived at Elmore with her family and friends to get ready for the day ahead. I don't speak Japanese apart from the obvious "konnichiwa" but that doesn't mean I don't understand the international language of bridal prep 'girl talk'. Everyone had a relaxed morning sipping champagne and eating strawberry's while Mikako's make-up was being done.

Mikako and Daryl had a blessing at Elmore church. The sun shone all day and they relaxed in the afternoon with garden games, drinks and canapes.

One of the differences with this wedding was the food factor. Daryl and Mikako decided to have their favorite Michelin star London restaurant visit Elmore to cater for the wedding breakfast. They also provided the canapes. It certainly added something to the photography and come to think of it the photographer too as I was treated to the seven course tasting menu. The restaurant L'Autre Pied provided exquisite food and I will definitely be paying them a visit next time I get a weekend in London with my husband!

So as the sun went down and the party started in the Gilly Flower.  English, Japanese and Americans alike played garden games, ate and drank celebrating the coming together of the very beautiful Mikako and her beau Daryl.

The next part is in Japan, wedding number three, and why not celebrate love in every country that you love.

ダリルと美香子は、私はあなたに幸せを願っています。名誉をいただき、ありがとうございます。

Your wedding day is about you – not me. My job as a photographer is to retell your story, not mine.
I strive to create the kind of atmosphere where people feel relaxed, happy and free to be themselves. I want for you to be completely at ease while knowing that if you ever need any assistance, I’m there for you – all day. This is why I stay for 12 hours.
